ABOUT Daniel

Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, I studied Marketing and Fine Art at James Madison University. Upon graduating, I pursued a career in hospitality and property management, moving around the country. After a successful ten years in the field, I was ready to move on to something new.

A curiosity in photography led to learning, and in 2009 Daniel Gaines Photography was born. Currently focused on architectural imagery and portraiture, you can find me in and around the SF Bay Area, up and down the West Coast, and across the country plying my trade.
